Part 1: Operations Strategy - Thesis
Thesis 1: Every company needs an Operations Strategy
-
as a framework for action for all employees in Operations, but also as orientation for all other functions of a company.

Thesis 2: The Operations Strategy must be systematically and directly derived from the Corporate Strategy and the business model of the specific enterprise.
-
How else is it supposed to (help) enable the company's success?

Thesis 3: The Operations Strategy must be scrutinized at least once a year and adjusted if necessary.
-
The world is still (and increasingly) VUCA.

Thesis 4: Small and medium-sized companies also need a clear Operations Strategy.
-
Theses 1 - 3 also apply to them.

But how comprehensive does it have to be?

Thesis 5: An Operations Strategy can also be "over-engineered".
-
Operations Strategy is not a rocket science

... and by the way: LEAN is not an Operations Strategy (uups).
